Welcome!
I'm Libreta, and I came to counseling later in life. Before that I worked in Criminal Justice and later, Management Consulting. After taking some time to focus on parenting my two children, I realized that I had a passion for understanding behavior and motivation, what makes us tick, how we define ourselves in the world, how we grow into the people we want to be.
I began to pursue a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduation, I joined the Pediatric OCD Intensive Outpatient Program at WPIC where I gained invaluable learning while working with an experienced team, treating children suffering from severe cases of OCD. It was incredible and humbling to be a part of their journey toward wellness. Witnessing their improvement fueled my interest in treating OCD spectrum disorders.
I continue to specialize in this area in private practice, while also recognizing that OCD can affect all aspects of life. I expanded my training to become versed in generalized and social anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and parenting anxious children.
To date, I have over 12 years of experience working with hundreds of clients of all ages who have struggled with these problems. Because no one approach feels right for everyone, I make it a priority to continually build my knowledge base, offer a variety of evidence-based tools, and combine the art and the science of therapy to individualize each person's journey.
